Neuro Event Labs Launches Growth Funding Round on Invesdor to Accelerate International Expansion
Tampere, Finland – 1 September 2026 – Neuro Event Labs has launched a growth funding round on Invesdor to accelerate international expansion of its Nelli® Seizure Monitoring System.
In epilepsy care, some of the most important events happen when nobody is watching. Many seizures occur at night or at home, outside the short periods when patients are monitored in hospital. Yet doctors need reliable seizure data both to make informed treatment decisions and, during hospital monitoring, to receive timely information that can support immediate clinical action.
Tampere-founded Neuro Event Labs has developed Nelli, an AI-powered, contact-free seizure monitoring system designed to help close this gap. Nelli uses a camera and microphone in the patient’s room to detect potential seizures, enabling clinicians to classify and distinguish them from other neurological events — without any device attached to the patient.
The system turns video and sound into structured seizure reports for clinicians. It can be used alongside existing epilepsy monitoring systems and seizure diaries, helping doctors make decisions based on more complete and objective data.
“A seizure that is not seen is a seizure that is difficult to treat,” says Jukka Peltola, Co-founder and Chief Medical Director of Neuro Event Labs. “With Nelli, we want to give clinicians a clearer picture of what actually happens — especially during the night and at home — and provide this information in time when immediate action is required.”
Nelli is approved for medical use in Europe as a CE-marked Class IIa medical device and is cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for hospital use. The system has already been used with more than 7,000 patients in over 60 hospitals.
From clinical validation to international scale-up
Neuro Event Labs is now entering its next phase of growth In addition to its European and US regulatory milestones, Nelli has received a positive New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) decision from the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The additional payment for eligible hospital use of Nelli is expected to come into force on 1 October 2026.
This supports hospital adoption in the US and further strengthens the company’s international scaling opportunity.
“We have done the difficult groundwork first: building the system, proving it in everyday clinical use and securing market access in both Europe and the US,” says Kaapo Annala, Co-founder and Managing Director, COO of Neuro Event Labs. “The next step is scaling — with hospitals, research partners and home-monitoring partners who need better seizure data.”
To support this next phase, Neuro Event Labs is opening an equity funding round on Invesdor. The public campaign launches on 1 September 2026.
The current round is based on a €15 million pre-money valuation. The planned total round size is approximately €1 million to €2 million, including €500,000 in anchor commitments led by Hadean Ventures. Since 2018, Neuro Event Labs has raised approximately €12.2 million from specialist life-science and technology investors, including Hadean Ventures, Maki.vc, SHS Capital and the EIC Fund.
