Fleet Manager

Job Overview:

Your mission – should you choose to accept it – is to take a leading role in NEL’s hardware asset management strategy; managing our hardware assets, conducting purchasing and sourcing activities, vetting new potential hardware candidates, improving asset management tooling, providing technical support for daily operations the clinical service, contributing to the development of device health automation and CI development, and simplifying overall operations by automating processes.

Basic knowledge of Linux and shell scripting are expected to succeed in this role. Also, if you have experience in any of the following technologies, be sure to mention it: CI/Docker, GitLab, Cloud (AWS), CAD, 3D printing, and hardware prototyping.

Our product provides a revolutionary tool for neurologists and nurses to treat epilepsy patients more efficiently than before. We collect vast amounts of multimedia and sensor data from epilepsy patients across Finland and internationally.

Our solution back-end is a scalable service based on FaaS architecture on AWS cloud infrastructure. In addition to our main cloud infrastructure, our back-end extends to a video processing pipeline and IoT device management. With a fleet of devices around the globe, we need to manage the intake and processing of data, while keeping our IoT fleet up-to-date and ready for action. Our front-end provides doctors and nurses with an intuitive user interface to see an overview of seizure frequency and characteristics of monitored patients and to drill down to details as needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Asset management: Strategy, availability, maintenance, labeling, deployment testing, improving tools with scalability in mind
  • Purchasing, vetting of candidates
  • Logistics & delivery planning
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Contributing to hardware design requirements and specification documents

This is a full-time, continuous position. You are preferably located in Tampere, Finland, as you will be required in the office several days per week (much of this role can be conducted remotely, however). We value expertise, enthusiasm, and true commitment above all; the rest is negotiable.
